In Charge

I am the activities chairperson in my ward. I never knew how much that encompassed until I was called to serve in that calling. Let me just say, that I don't enjoy being in charge. Making decisions that people may or may not criticize has never been my strong suite, and I don't really delegate very easily either. I have learned, however, that making everyone happy is impossible when I am in the position of in-charge-ness, and doing everything myself is unrealistic.

Last night I was in charge of another ward activity. We had a ward service auction, and I am happy to say that it went rather well. It was a great way to get to know people in the ward. We had several great things to auction off, and I am pleased to announce that I won a whole day of Jared not being grumpy. Not that he is grumpy all the time or anything, it will just be nice to be able to have him not be grumpy when I sense that he might become so. I am really not sure how that works either, but I won it, so I will exploit it. Anyway, it went smoothly, and everyone had a great time, and for once I did delegate so it wasn't as stressful. I hope that means that I have learned the lesson that I was supposed to learn from this calling, and will be able to move on soon. Then again, probably not.

It will be fun to hear how you cash in your "Jared not being grumpy" ticket.
Love you,
Mom

I heard he is paying off the non-grumpy in one hour increments, is this true?
