Okay, I know it is probably how everyone is feeling, but right now I have the winter blues REALLY bad. I am so TIRED OF BEING COLD! I want to get in my car and drive south until it is at least 80 degrees. I miss the days of not bundling my kids up everytime I need to go somewhere, and flip flops! I miss flip flops. So in order to kill time I thought that I would respond to the tag "25 random things about me". I was actually tagged on facebook but I don't want to post it on facebook because I think it is creepy that anyone could read it......yikes. So I will post here, for you, my faithful blog readers, only I am going to change it to "25 random things about me that make me happy and keep my mind off the CRAPPY weather".
1. Okay, well you most likely know this odd fact about me, but one thing that makes me REALLY happy (almost on the giddy side) is office supply stores. I went to Staples the other day and had to tear myself away from the mechanical pencil aisle so I wouldn't spend my whole income tax refund!
2. The travel channel. I love to watch the travel channel. This is beach weekend, and I spent a blissful 30 minutes on Saturday evening watching "the top 10 Carribean vacation spots". I am almost drooling over the thought of a Carribean vacation.
3. Going out to lunch! My lunch ladies know what I am talking about!
4. Dying my hair. I love to make my hair change colors. It is a pretty good indicator that I have the blahs if I have mousy hair (what I affectionately call my natural color) one day and blonde or brown or red, or a mixture of all the above the next day. I am hoping to someday invent hypercolor hair dye.
5. Rearranging my furniture.
6. I love a good vacuum. A good vacuum REALLY makes me happy because I am studying Microbiology right now, and have officially joined the "Germaphobe club of Eastern Idaho". I am happy whenever I feel like I am ridding my home of more germs. Vacuuming falls under that category, so does bleaching. I love to use bleach on everything, and it shows because I have bleach stains on every piece of clothing I own!
7. A Nice long hot shower. I love that. It is so nice. We have a shower in our basement with REALLY good water pressure. I could spend all day in there, but my water heater wouldn't hold up, and I don't think that my kids would appreciate it.
8. There is always the occasional trip to a shoe store to lift my spirits. Word to the wise, it doesn't have the same euphoric effect when you have four kids with you who are all pulling all the shoes off the shelf.
9. Running. Well, let me correct myself there; running doesn't make happy but the endorphins do make me happy.
10. My husband. I know that it probably looks bad that I didn't think of him until after "office supplies" and "running", but he is great, and I love him. I love that he has been SO supportive about this nursing school thing.
11. My kids. It is hard to have little kids when the weather is bad and you cannot send them outside to get the energy out because they are all getting over a cold and you don't want it to get worse. Having said that, I love my kids. They are all so great, and they really have taught me a great deal about being unselfish and forgiving. They really do make me happy.
12. Good Friends! I have really felt like I have gotten to know the people in my ward pretty well now, and they have accepted me and my family. I appreciate feeling loved and valued. It is nice to be surrounded by a great support system.
13. Blogging, facebooking, emailing and chatting. I have to admit I love my computer. It is almost a member of my family, and I would feel totally cut off from EVERYONE if I didn't have that. It really keeps me sane.
14. School. It is really challenging my brain, and I love it. I love learning, I love textbooks. (WOW! I really am a nerd, huh!) I think that I keep changing my major because I really won't know what to do with myself when I am done!
15. Multi-tasking. I think that is a glorified way of saying ADD, but hey, it sounds alot better. I like to do ALOT of things at the same time, It makes me happy.
16. I think that it is because I grew up in Wyoming.....I like the smell of melting snow and wet grass. It brings out the soccer player in me. I just want to go slide tackle someone when I smell that wet grass.
17. Income Tax Refunds.
18. New purse season... Every spring I buy a new purse. I don't know what I want this year though. I am thinking about getting a nice pair of cargo pants and wearing those instead.....Jared says he won't take me out if I do that. Any good purse shoppers let me know and I will let you help me pick out a good one.
19. Words that make me sound smart to my older brothers and sister.
20. A good reasonable political discussion. I like to hear stuff from other points of view, but only if it is based on fact and doesn't get catty or emotional.
21. Red kitchen Appliances. Jared started buying me red kitchen small appliances, and I really like them. I really like the pot rack that he bought me for Christmas too. (Who says money can't buy happiness?)
22. Thinking about conference weekend really makes me happy. Finally someone on TV that I don't have to wonder if they are telling the truth or not. I also really enjoy conference weekend because I have such positive memories of it. I hope I can create the same kind of memories for my kids.
23. Painting. I am not painting right now because I don't have the time, but I love going to the store and finding paint samples. Anyone have a suggestion for a good basement color, or bathroom color?
24. Seeing my tulips and daffodils popping out of the snow. It really does give me hope that spring is on its way.
25. Going to bed and not being hot. I really do like that about winter.
Well, now that you are BORED out of your mind, I am done. I am more cheerful now, and that is why I did this tag. There are a lot of great things about March in spite of the weather.

I like your positive winter outlook--a lot of the same things make me happy, too!
Wow, I can relate about the computer being a part of our lives. Ours was down for 3 days and it seemed like we were cut off from the world. Actually, we were!! I'm so glad it is back on again. Mexico is a much better place when we can keep in touch with our families. Loved your positive comments. Purse hunting--?Mmmm wonder where you get that? Office supplies--your father :-) Running--I have no idea.
Love you,
Mom
You should move to Co. springs, the winters are great. I wear flip flops all the time, k sometimes it is to cold for them, but I do it anyways. I can count the times its snowed this year and it all melts away within a couple of days. Just enough winter to make you happy, not to much winter to make you happy all year long:)
You make me laugh! I'll have to remember to stay away from you when the snow is melting and the grass is wet. And I completely understand the shoe shopping WITHOUT kids!
I have had the same purse for about 5 years now, so I am sorry I can't help you in that department. I am looking forward to the bag that Sherri Johnston is making in a few months though.
I would not mind late night paint shopping with you to be a sounding board. I do a lot of thinking about paint. Every spring it makes me want it to be warm enough to open the windows and paint, even though I usually don't because that is a big project and Randal doesn't care for that. This year I need to though because I already tried paint on my walls!!!
