Just one of those things

This week was full of things that happened that you kind of just have to throw up your hands and shrug, and say "what do ya do?"

1. Nathan didn't want to take a nap until four thirty in the afternoon. I of course didn't want to sleep so late in the day, so I tried to keep him up. It didn't work, because he would fall asleep on the stairs....for some reason that is a really comfortable spot for him.

2. Lawren just hasn't been sleeping very well. I guess I am eating my words because I have always secretly prided myself on getting my kids to sleep through the night at an early age....Lawren isn't cooperating. I have let her cry night after night until I have felt like a bad mom....the other night I simply turned on the hall light and she instantly stopped. I guess she is afraid of the dark. Paying for electricity is definitely worth a good night's sleep.

3. I actually managed to LOOSE my temple recommend on the way home from the my interview with the stake president....don't ask how because I don't know. I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning looking for it in a slightly manic state. Today I had interview number two.

4. I took Seth, Nathan, and Lawren to the doctor for shots on the same day.....DUH! I don't know why I thought that was a good idea.

5. Everytime Jared and I try to go somewhere with the kids my garage door won't close. It is so annoying! It just goes partway down and then back up....Jared figured out that at a certain time of day the sun hits the sensor funny...so if Jared gets out of the car and stands kind of in front of it will close.

After reading through my list of annoyances I realize that they are SO small. Jared took me on a date on Friday night and ate Chinese food. My fortune cookie read "Look past small annoyances to see the big blessings"....it is so true. It is worth it.

That fortune is so true, but a lot easier to do once the annoyances ahve passed!

You are right. Small things can be overlooked when you have the many blessings your sweet family has.
Love you,
Mom
