naptime

We are at an in-betweener stage right now with Nathan and his napping. I am a FIRM believer in making kids take naps as long I as I possibly can get away with it. Nathan, however, being the "delightful" (notice I put that in quotes....there's a good reason for that) age of 3 1/2, is not really responding to my "take a nap or die" philosophy. I recently have decided that if I want peaceful evenings (yeah I know I am dreaming), than I need to let him stay up during the day so he will go to bed at night. It seems simple enough, but it has totally backfired. He is super-duper tired starting at about 2 pm and than gets progressively grumpier and grumpier until I must remove him from my presence so I don't strangle him. The worst part about it is I get grumpier right along with him. The other night I sat him at the table because he was just out of control, and was attempting to make dinner, and that is when this picture was taken. I don't know when or how I will ever figure that kid out.

Aren't you glad for opposition in all things Monica? Your red kitchen looks good from what the picture shows. The zoo pictures are great too. You didn't by any chance find my camera case in your car or stroller did you? I can't find it since the zoo trip.
Love,
Mom

Some day when he's all big and grown up like us he'll wish he could take naps again! I wish I could fall asleep at the table while someone makes my dinner. Good job on your exercising. I must say you are doing much better than me. I got sick and then the weather has been bad so it's been over a week since I last exercised.
