My reason for being absent from the blogging world: Painting. I am still not done. I painted the kitchen and the hallway, and I decided that not only am I a horrible painter, but I do not enjoy it in the least. I think it turned out good, as far as the colors go, but I don't like the fact that it looks like an amatuer did it. At the end of the post are some pictures of it. There is one slight problem....a few days ago a lovely adorable family member gouged a big hole in the the side of the wall, which now we are trying to repair. I wouldn't have been upset if I hadn't spent the last two weeks painting it. It isn't that big of a deal.........Just a pain. Now I still have to touch up a few spots and try to fix a few more spots of my amatuer paint job, and I may paint one wall of the living room too....I really dislike painting.
We also spent Easter weekend with my parents which was delightful. We went on Saturday and had a little Easter egg hunt. We just laid out a bunch of eggs on the ground and let them come out and find them. We also tried to fly a kite, but we got a stunt kite, and it wasn't about to go up. It was a shame because it was a really perfect kind of day to fly a kite. Sunday we ate dinner at my mom's with my brother Mark from Brigham City. It was really fun to see them. We also go to go to the Hogle Zoo on Monday. We really enjoyed it. The kids are finally old enough to really be interested in the animals. My favorite was watching my monkeys watch the real monkeys. I really hope they didn't learn anything new.
It was a good trip despite the fact I didn't get much sleep. Lawren didn't like her portable crib that she slept in, and so I was up most of the three nights we stayed with her. We came home yesterday, and it was so great to sleep in our beds.

I was wodering if you ever went red in the kitchen. I like it. It makes me want to do the same. First I have to paint the girls room and finish the boys room, then I can do the kitchen - maybe.
