Best Friends

I am amazed how my two little boys are so close. That may sound odd, because often siblings who are eighteen months apart that are both male, or both female, have pretty close relationships. Well, recently it seems to have solidified, and they are their own little team. If one gets in trouble the other one is right there to tell me or Jared how mean we are. If one wants to watch a movie, so does the other one, if one doesn't like dinner, neither does the other They are constantly playing, and don't really want to do anything besides play. I really have enjoyed seeing this happen because a year ago this wasn't the case....they couldn't stand to be around each other. So the past month or so since it has been so wintery and cold outside, it has been so nice to have them getting along so well. It might have something to do with the new toys that they received for Christmas that has sparked this remarkable cooperation with one another, but I truly think it is more than that...they have discovered that they can be good friends, and want to be! Being the youngest in my family, and having a fairly significant gap between me and the next one up, I am kind of envious of this. I don't think that children always believe that their best friends will be their brothers and sisters when they are adults. I certainly feel like although life is busy and we are separated by a lot of space, my sweetest associations are with my siblings. Anyway, watching my two boys truly has renewed my desire for close relationships with my siblings. I am hoping that this blog will be a good way for them to be a part of my life, and for me to be part of theirs.

Its crazy how hard it can be to find the time to just pick up the phone and call someone sometimes. This will be a great way to stay connected. I look forward to many more fun stories from the bedhead crew!
