Running
My goal last year was to run a half marathon this year.....didn't happen. I went running Saturday morning intending on doing five or six miles. Well, I don't know if I am getting the H1N1 or what, but I couldn't run more than a half a mile without wanting to throw up. I came home and was wasted! I even had to take a nap, and still didn't feel that great. I guess I am kind of discouraged about it. My wise mother keeps telling me that maybe this is not the best goal with all the other stuff I have going on, but I really want to do it! (I know, I sound like a three-year-old). I don't love running, maybe that's the problem. People who I have talked to that have run crazy- long distances love running. I love that I can eat more because I run, and not gain weight, and I love endorphins that I get as a result of running, but I don't love running....I guess I just have to develop a love for running in order to run a half marathon....not sure that will ever happen.

haha I understand the loving to eat more when you run! My goal was to run a marathon, I don't know what I was thinking! Oh this is Kensey (Ray and Pam's daughter) by the way. I like that I can keep updated with you!

I have the same goal! I am just starting again though. Keep it up!I have a rend that runs marathons and she said you will have days like that. Her easy days are near 20 miles and she has days where she can't pull it off either. Don't get discouraged. I have to be ready by May. We'll train together!

I guess I need to start running because I can't stop eating lately.
Anyway, it is great that you are doing any running, but I tend to agree with your wise mother. Maybe somewhere in your head your body was agreeing with her. But really I hate to hear people who run beat themselves up for not running as far as they wanted.... helloooo, your running- therefore you are amazing! And besides it just makes us non-exercisers feel even crappier about ourselves. I think I need another piece of candy corn.....
Hi Monica, This is your "wise" or not, Mother. In order to eat all you want and still lose weight come to Mexico and WALK in 100ยบ heat and humidity about 3 miles a day and you'll be able to eat all you want and still lose weight. It works for us. You are amazing, dear daughter.

I have been eating like a bear getting ready to hybernate lately. Maybe I need to start running again?? I like your mother's advise, though I think it is pretty safe to say IF has seen it's last high temp day this year and sadly there is NO moisture in the air either!lol! Good luck and get better!
