Rocky Mountain High, Colorado

We took off on Saturday to visit two of my brothers and my sister who all live in Colorado Springs, CO. It has been so much fun. This is Day four of our trip, and it has been non-stop fun for our kids, and although I am completely exhausted, it has been fun for me and Jared too.
Day 1: We left at 7 in the morning, and drove through the Ririe, Lake Palisades area. It was so pretty because of all the rain we have had. I was amazed how green everything is. We also drove through Star Valley, WY, which I had never done before. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived at Monte and Megan's brand new home (very nice and and spacious) after 13 hours of traveling and only one throw-up and wet diaper soak through. Harry Potter kept us good company, and the kids didn't fight. That made me extremely happy. Our kids were so excited to play with their cousins, and were bummed when we made them go to bed at a decent hour. Jared got to go to a late movie with Micah and Monte. Star Trek isn't my thing, so I am glad that he went without me, although I did enjoy staying up and chatting with Megan, who I haven't seen in a really long time.
Day 2: It was Father's day, and we had a great time just lounging around in the morning before church, which I was grateful for because I was exhausted, and so was Jared. He had a record 15 naps (one during Sacrament Meeting). Megan made a yummy breakfast and Monte and Corrinne told us a little about their trip to Eygpt last year. It was fun to go to church and actually get to go the classes and learn, instead of being all involved with the primary. After church we got to eat yet another yummy meal. I also got to play an extremely confusing game with Monte and Elaena. Melissa came over with her kids and Megan sang some Phantom of the Opera for us. She has an amazing voice, so it was really fun to listen to. Monte sang the part of the phantom, and did a pretty good job too.
Day 3: We went to Water World. It was so much fun. The kids were fearless, except for Lawren. She was not very fearless. We took her down the "raging Colorado" and she was terrified. Lyndi and Seth were tall enough to go down pretty much anything. I was pretty scared going down everything. I think that once I had kids I pretty much turned into a fraidy-cat. It was so much fun.
Day 4: Today I decided to go "running" . It wasn't even really running it was pretty much just flailing my arms and legs. Colorado Springs is 2000 ft higher than Idaho Falls, and so much hillier. It was SO HARD! After that we packed our stuff and went to Micah and Tiffani's house to spend a couple of days with them. We went to a little candy store, and watched them make taffy and chocolates, and got free samples. It was so fun! The kids have been playing playing playing ever since! How fun is that? I remember having SO MUCH FUN with my cousins when went to St. George. We are thinking of making this a tradition it has been so much fun.
More Later....maybe even some pictures.

Monica, I feel the same way about being a scardy-cat since having kids. I would also like to add WHIMP! I don't lift heavy stuff like I used to; I used to be so tough!
