Springtime
I love conference weekend. I do remember a time when I was about Lyndi's age that I didn't love it as much, but now I absolutely love it. It is right up there with Christmas and h0w my birthday used to feel. Growing up my Mom would make this breakfast casserole with cheese and egg and hashbrowns, and (drum roll please)...........SAUSAGE. I have an extremely unhealthy addiction to breakfast meat. It was so good every time. I have solemnly carried on this tradition, and my kids love it too. Most of my favorite traditions revolve around food. Anyway, this morning I made the casserole with Lawren sitting on the counter top and my favorite Motab CD on "too loud" (that is what Seth thought). It was blissful. I know it is hard for kids to listen to conference, and sometimes annoying when they are bored and loud and antsy, but I still love the feeling of gathering my family around to listen to pure truth. I love that time week Conference was the week before Easter, and that the weather was all springy. I love the feeling of hope and happiness that conference brings. Afterwards we went outside and enjoyed the decent weather. My little tulips and and daffodils are coming up too! To me conference always marks the beginning of Spring, and it makes me feel the hope of all the symbolism of Easter.

Yes, it was a glorious week end. Not that my kids weren't ansy during conference! We enjoyed the gorgeous weather yesterday by taking a family walk and playing in the backyard.
I think I would like to try your breakfast casserole, sounds yummy, but I know my kids would not like it, as they are not egg eaters- unless they are hard boiled, so Easter is on.
I like your new picture. Your old one was so cold to look at lately! When's Jared getting that stump grinder? Just tell him NOT to do it on the 25th.
One more thing, I can't believe you haven't seen that picture at the church. ????
So glad that you love some of the traditions we had, especially for conference. We are especially glad that you love conference. What a great conference it was. It was nice to see a little spring in Idaho.
Love,
Dad and Mom
