This week, probably due to cabin fever, Jared and I find ourselves involved in facebook. It is, I will begrudgingly admit, rather addicting. I find myself locating people that I haven't thought about or talked to for YEARS! It is kind of wierd and good and disconcerting all at the same time. I grew up in Casper, WY, and I don't go back there anymore because my family no longer lives there....so I really haven't seen some of these people for a long time.
Jared has gotten into it too and had a nostalgic weekend of talking to some friends that we knew at Ricks and some that he knew in high school. He agrees that it is wierd to think about people that you grew up with and see that they are married and have kids too. He has kind of a bad week though as far as feeling old.....he is REALLY gray, and has discovered, much to his dismay, that he is considerably more gray than all of his friends (I probably have something to do with that ;) He has had people telling him all week that he looks old. One of his co-workers even gave him a hair dye kit for a joke gift. I say people thinks he's old because he does gray hair (obviously his co-worker agrees), he says it is because "he walks like he is 90". I just smile and tell him "it's a good thing you're married to such a young hotty, than huh?" I like to exploit the fact that I am not 30 yet. Anyway, he is feeling old and facebook hasn't helped. I also tell him, "You can't be old, because I am not old." None of these things have convinced him, but I know I am right.

I agree, weird about all those friends from the past. Say hi to grandpa for me.
Hey! You're on facebook! Good to know.
I'm sorry Jared, but as usual, Monica is right. You can't win this one.
By the way, if Jared is so old, how come he plays so much?
My husband loves facebook. I haven't joined because I don't know if I want everyone from my past finding me-- and I don't even have a dark past.
I really like that picture of Jared, and tell him not to worry. No matter how grey he gets he will always be older than me too! :)
I don't know how old Jared is but I'm not going to make fun of him because I am gettin gup there in years myself, although I don't have any gray yet! Tell him to think of it as more a silvery blond!
My husband has had some gray hair as long as I have known him (he's gotten more since as he gotten older as well) and he says it makes him look more distinguished. Maybe that will make Jared fell better!
Jared, I think you look GREAT!! You are only as old as you feel---not walk. Right? Strat will remain young forever at the rate he walks, but he is still a big older than you. Yesterday someone told him he looked like the main character in Indiana Jones. He has been told that a lot. We can't even remember the guy's name. The alternative of getting older isn't really good anyway.
Love,
Mom
