Natty Poo Poo

For some reason I give my children a lot of nicknames. I don't know why but all of my children have at least one, and they are all pretty lame: Lyndi's has always been Lyndi-Lou-who, Seth's is Seffy Weffy, and although Lawren's isn't particulary complementary, it used to fit her pretty closely: Thunder. The reason behind hers is that she had REALLY fat legs when she was a baby: "thunder thighs" in fact, so Jared started calling her "thunder". I just hope she grows out of that one! Nathan has more nicknames than any of the other kids, and I am really not sure why. When he was a baby we called him "wafer", which is a derivative of "naffy waffy", which seemed to naturally follow Seth's "seffy weffy". Than Jared started calling him squints, because he kind of squints when he smiles. When he was almost two he broke his leg, and then followed the inevitable "gimpy" nickname. More recently, within the last year or so, for some reason that is unkown, I started calling him "Natty Poo-Poo". Well, the poor kid hated it! I don't really blame him, but I kept calling him that because he is so darn cute. I guess he just decided to stop fighting it because now he answers to it. Well, the really funny part about the whole thing is that Lawren is really starting to talk, but is instead of calling Nathan by his name she now calls him "Nano Poo-poo". Sometimes just Poo-Poo for short. Nathan REALLY hates it when his little sister calls him that. Lawren doesn't care. She just laughs and laughs and laughs. What a tease!

That is too funny! Poor Nathan. Hopefully Lawren will grow out of it for Nathan's sake.

Wow, the similarities between our families... we have lots of nick names too that change from time to time, but one of Lauren's is Lauren Lou- who because when she was in first grade on Dr. Seuss' birthday she dressed as a Who. She probably has the most nicknames of anyone though.
And your post reminded me of when Ivy only called Tennyson Te-man (her version of Tenn-Man (which was altered from the Tin Man). Toddlers are cute!

We do the nicknames too. We have Maddi Bug, Nenna, Cowboy, Susie (Dillon), Squeaky and Princess Lala or lollipop. Aren't they fun?

Love your nick names, you and Jared are both so fun and clever!!! I think it is funny that Lawren has already figured out how to get to her brother!!! Mark enjoyed talking to you on Sunday! Let us know what you decide about the reunion, it will be great whatever you choose!

Poor kid, my brothers scared my for life when they called me Sniff instead of Tiff. Or the worst one was when they would just make a sniff noise with their nose! I still want to cry if the relive the memory and call me that now.

Good job with the pictures, I'm about 5 years behind. Also Good job remembering your fun things from each month last year. I don't think I can even remember back that far!

It is wonderful to be here in Mexico and still be able to be in touch with you and your family. Loved talking with you and Jared and Lyndi via Skype. Hope you'll let us know when we can call again.
Love,
Mom
