Born on the Fourth of July.....Almost

Holy Cow we have had a lot of birthdays lately. Last Thursday was Nathan's birthday. He was born four years ago on July 3 at 11:45pm. We had a fun celebration with him, and he got a super fun toy. It is a wildwest target shooting thing. It has a gun that makes a gun sound and shoots out an infared beam, and if you shoot the plastic log in the right place the plastic bottles and cans shoot up in the air and make a cool sound. The kids (including Jared) have had lots of fun with it. We also had our own little fireworks show. It was fun, and surprisingly Lawren wasn't scared in the least. It seems like we always have some fireworks to set off on the 3rd of July. Nathan thinks they are for his birthday.

On the 4th we went to a blazing hot parade, we had in-laws over for an excellant barbecue, played a ruthless game of croquet, and sat in the back of the truck and watched the fireworks. It took us an hour and a half to get home....that wasn't fun, but the rest was quite enjoyable...I think that the fourth of July is my favorite holiday, even the one when I sat in the hospital with a sweet newborn. There are lots of great memories there.

Lawren came home from church and stood on her head for like twenty minutes....for no reason. Life is not boring around here.
