Is Summer Already Over?

Last week we finally had some warm weather. It felt just like summer, and I think that the kids thought it was. Of course Lyndi knows better better, but Seth and Nathan in particular were really thinking it was summer. When the ice cream man drove , well, that was all the convincing they needed, that yes it was indeed summer. I was (for once) a nice mom and let the kids go buy an ice cream......we could only afford two. I guess that I was naive and thought that $2.50 could get something for each of the kids.....wrong. They were at least 1.50 a piece...YIKES!!!!! Anyway I made Seth and Nathan share. They were so happy to sit on the porch in the sun and eat ice cream. It was a good feeling to see my kids doing the same things that I did when I was a kid. It was nice to wear sandals and not have to not have to worry about jackets. Well, you know Idaho...weather changes quickly! That night it got really windy (according to Seth it was a "blister") and it blew our fence over. That's life I guess.....but it also blew a storm system in and it was really cold and rainy the next couple of days. The kids were not too concerned about the fence, but they were about the rain. Seth was convinced that Summer had come and gone in those six days that it was warm. He asked me with the most distraught look on his face "IS SUMMER ALREADY OVER?" Hopefully not....it will hopefully come back soon. Just in case it doesn't, I thought I would document that we did have a few days of sunshine this year...
