My parents came to visit this weekend. They got see the kids' primary program, and we celebrated my dad's 70th birthday. I got to make all of his favorite foods and really just spoil him rotten, with the help of my Mom and Lyndi. Jared and my Mom got their usual philosophical discussion in, and mom and I attempted to go shopping, but gave up after realizing that neither of us has the stamina or the patience to deal with the crowds. Those of you who have been shopping in Idaho Falls on a Saturday know what I am talking about. Jared and my dad went to an exciting footbal game, and I was glad to stay home with my mom and watch a movie witht he kids. All in all, it really turned out to be the perfect weekend. My parents helped me to put things into focus. I think that I was sort of getting caught up in the here and now too much, and perhaps in the midst of it all. I have lost focus on what really matters. Watching my Mom and Dad with my kids, and seeing them cherish every moment with them, really put things back into perspective. I hope I can be better at that this week. So instead of writing about what is driving me crazy about each of my kids, I think I will mention something I love about them.
1. Lawren is the best snuggler. She loves hug and just really burrow in. She is a great smiler, and makes everyone happy around her. It is something about her that just makes people happy. I think that it may be her most natural spiritual gift and I hope that she realizes that and remains that way.
2. Nathan is really cute. That sounds like a cop out, but sometimes I look at him and think, "how in the heck did Jared and I get such a cute little boy!". He also really loves people.
3. Seth is the best hugger in the world. He is always kissing and hugging me, and telling me that he loves me, and that is the best thing that a mom could ask for.
4. Lyndi has an innate desire to be righteous. She just wants to be good, and I love her for that. It is so nice to be around someone who wants to do the right thing just because it is the right thing.
There are a lot of moments that I am about ready to pull out my hair, but I know that families are really what matters in life, and they bring me such great joy! Thanks for reminding me Mom and Dad!
