And We're Off
So we have never been on a real family vacation. We have been places, but we never go anywhere just to go somewhere. there is always an underlying reason. You know, a funeral, a wedding, or the inevitable family reunions. There is also the logistics of taking four small children anywhere.....all the stuff you have to take, all the whining and fighting in the car, etc. We decided that since our circumstances have allowed us to, we would take our kids to the Oregon Coast, somewhere Jared and I have both always wanted to go. This morning we left for the first half of the trip there. We took lots of food and drinks with us to sustain us through the day so we wouldn't be big Sabbath breakers, and listened to most of General Conference on the radio. Lawren managed to cover herself with a chocolate covered pretzal and get a nasty case of car sickness all within the first 30 minutes. Nathan is very excited to see the ocean, and really doesn't understand that it takes a LONG TIME to get there. Every time we would get a glimpse of the Snake River or a pond, he would ask, "is that the ocean?" We had a relatively smooth drive with no major mishaps. Pictures will be forthcoming.

let us know how things are going. We're anxious to hear from you. I'll be leaving for St. George on Friday, but will have my cell phone.
Be safe and enjoy.
